so young and romantic makes me wonder
how these things seem to come to be
was it a comic book, a play, a sappy song
or one of those hollywood movies
thinking you know what love is
when you only follow a script
taking the part of character A
then altering just a little bit
character B is required now
so as to meet the quota
tall dark and stupid fits the bill
now you can add an orange soda
I saw how they kiss and fondle
so I better do the same
doesn't really matter if its good
it will be in love's name
now find a ring on a day in spring
hidden in a chocolate truffle
down on one knee expecting to see
perfection of romantic kerfluffel
some jaded boy and naive girl toy
playing a copy cat game
all in plain sight inbetween fights
saying its love just the same
